Kaz Hirai has confirmed that the Dual Shock 3 will be released in Japan in November 2007 and in Europe and the US in early 2008.
This controller is identical to the original Sixaxis, except that it also includes vibration support. A lot of titles are already scheduled to use it, including MGS4, Burnout Paradise, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, Devil May Cry 4 and Echochrome. Nine titles are using it at TGS itself.
Pricing has yet to be announced. We'll have more soon.

And people are bein idiots already cause fro some stupid reason they thought it would look different !!
cool
I just wish that it has a cool implementation in MGS4. You know Kojima, he's very creative with that. (Remember Psycho Mantis!) I hope it's not just something that's been tacked on.
2008 for NA, come on what's taken so long
not unexpected but still sweet
I just hope the DS3 willn't be required for some games because I could care less about rumble!!!!!!!
Now when this controller comes out can i just buy it off of ebay and still have it work on my ps3 in canada?
Looks like Sony was good enough to its consumers to swallow their pride and work with Immersion. Good show! Who says Sony doesn't care about its consumer base? Just the Xbots.
This is awesome they've secretly hid this from us but the companies already new it was coming and already have it in their games! i hope the old games like resistance, motostorm, and ect will beable to have a firmware thing and impliment it in the older games !
as long ast it has the same features and rumble im cool with that I like the what it is designed. I hope they are the same price
I only hope they'll take back our ps3 controllers and (for a price) exchange them for this new controllers, so we don't look like total idiots because we bought the older version of them... sony hear me!
i called it!!...in time for mgs4!!!!
This is too hilarious. What happened to everyone saying that Rumble adds nothing to a game. Frickin Hilarious!!!
@fyaman: My sentiments exactly.
YESSSS!! Although this was expected at least it shuts up all the doubters with their "I'll wait for an official comfirmation". I mean, who were you kidding?
@fyaman
Yeah,that is pretty hilarious.I didn't know how fun games could be with rumble until i tried it for myself,and boy am i hooked.
ill just import them....its region free so yea....it doesnt matter..plus its a remote so it will deff work on any system
Im ready to be shaken....not stire though
There better be an exchange or at least a generously reduced price for sixaxis to dualshock 3 so i dont have to dish out another $100 to replace my controllers. It would be as though i were being punished for showing support for sony and purchasing my ps3 early
Sweet. I just wish they wouldn't have bs'd us early on about it not working right.
MGS4 and DMC4....sweet. I wish developers can release a patch for their games on PSN to allow rumble for certain titles that are already out....R:FoM and NGS perferbley lol. I don't see why people who don't like rumble wants to rain on the ones who do like rumbles' parade. Dammint, if you don't like rumble then this announcement isn't for you. There will be alot of the non-rumble controllers to buy...trust me.
Didn't miss it, didn't care. Good for those who did.
I am one of those who didn't care that Sixaxis didn't have rumble. The old rumble that we had in our Dual Shock 2's, I can live without. Didn't add much to the feel. But I am very excited about this news. Know why? Bacause it's gonna be a new kind of rumble. One that can rumble in many different ways and angles. It's going to be very interesting to try out.
I hope the current standard controller will still be around for purchase. I never enjoyed ff,vibrate,rumble.. they bring nothing of value to the games.
MGS4 with rumble......Priceless.
psn id: gingo... i'll need to buy a couple of these bad boys when they come out, good job sony
Whats the big deal with vibrating controllers?? I still dont get it. Its just a controller that vibrates. Now dont get me wrong. If the majority of the people want it. Then I'm not against bringing it. But I just dont get what the big deal about it is. and why is it neccesary?
Considering its going to use battery life, I think it'll be a good idea if you just press the PS button and there you have the option to turn rumble on or off. I know you'll be able to do this in the game options but it will be better if you could do it at anytime.
