Echochrome hitting the PlayStation Network tomorrow

Posted on April 30th, 2008 at 21:09 EDT

Get ready to boggle your minds PS3 and PSP owners, echochrome will be hitting the PSN tomorrow!

Coming as part of tomorrow's PlayStation Store update, both the PS3 and PSP versions of echochrome will be available for the PlayStation populace to download on the PlayStation Store for the PS3 and via the PC Store for the PSP. Although there are minor differences in each version, both versions will be priced at $9.99. On the PS3 side there will be 56 unique levels, while the PSP will feature 56 completely different levels unique to the PSP version (so if you splurge on both versions you get 112 levels overall).

Although simplistic in its design, echochrome manages to provides gamers with puzzle gameplay that is both fun and addictive while drawing gamers in with its elegant yet simple graphics. The concept behind the game is inspired by the famous MC Escher artwork, which explores infinity, architecture and impossible constructions. Echochrome puts you in control of the camera and perspective on an infinite canvas, guiding a mannequin figure by carefully tilting and turning the level to create a continual pathway, allowing your character to walk safely through the design.

Included on both version is a "canvas mode" which allows you to create your own puzzles from scratch and share them with your friends or even the world. The PS3 version will allow you to share the levels over the internet while the PSP only via ad-hoc sharing. Get your PSN wallets ready for echochrome tomorrow!

its fun and all but i really really dislike the camera movements... i turn it to the left or something, and it just continues spinning and weird stuff like that...

I love the demo.  It just sucks there isn't more in there and you have to go through the tutorial every time.  And if Sony had gotten those PSN cards out by now, I would have picked this up tomorrow.

I've been waiting for this game since i first saw it at last years E3.  It's too bad they decided to release it the same week as GTAIV.  Oh well, i'll be picking up both the PS3 and PSP versions of this game tomorrow.

You can use motion control (Obviously only on the PS3 version.)

I'm just disappointed there is not just 1 version, playable on both platforms like the ps1 games.

I want an opportunity  to play it with a better quality on my tv, and exchange maps online, but I also want portability. I don't want to buy it twice just for the sake of that.

I think i would hardly play it on the ps3, so i want endless downloadable maps on psp... etc etc
