Well at least it gives me a chance to play throughout the game again even there are games out this month.

Make it retrospective so that it rewards me for what I've done already and I'll bother.  If not, I won't - not playing through that lot again just for a few lifeless trophies to add to a collection that is only for boasting.

the only way i'll probably pick this game back up to actually finish it (seeing as though i got so bored with it i stopped playing a little half way through) is if they Patch up the Online play and Custom Sountrax as well.

I had to post to agree with the last few posts here. I, too, quit about half way through out of boredom...

This was a step backwards from San Andreas in more than a few ways.

Probably a little to late for most. I never see anybody play this anymore and with all the games coming out with trophies, not sure how many will bother with it? Except maybe the hardcore fans.

wtf is with everyone hating on GTA4? all you guys complaing, saying u "quit out of boredom half way through"? wtf i happily beat the story and am still finding enjoyment out of the game, both just screwin around in offline, doing the side missions and whatnot, as well as online with my friends. although the news of the trophies doesn't so much make me wanna put all my focus on this game and get 100%, it is a nice gesture by Rockstar (even though waaay late). so yeah, idk what all u haters are smokin', but this is still an epic game.

One thing I've realized about the whole Trophy thing is that, no companies are going to actually make their Trophies retroactive.  They actually want people to go back into their games for a second or third time. Example, look at how Bournout Paradise stats went through the roof because of the updates. Same goes for Uncharted. I guarantee you all, this patch will be available before Saints Row 2. Just to help compete.

By the way, they really need to patch MGS4 with Trophies.

Compared to their other GTA games, this game wasn't nearly as good.  People obviously disagree but the point they were making before in GTA was lots of things to do other then dating.  This game focused 50% on dating and 50% on story. 

Not only that but my GTAIV stopped working after not playing it for 2 months or so.  every game plays fine, but not this game, it freezes between 5 - 20 seconds after I get in the game.   I sold it and rockstar made it clear they are not patching this, so I wont support anymore of their games from now on.  $60.00 down the drain, but hey, they made their big sales and got all that money, no wonder why they wont patch it.

I know that loosing a few people isn't going to break there bank at all but poor business is something I don't deal with.  I was pretty surprized when I emailed them about them patching it and got the reply of No, we have no plans to patch it regarding the problems some people have.

complete waste of money.  Sorry for the venting but it needed to get out.  Trophies are late, arg...What happened to this company, seriously.

The thing is is that they're not retroactive so WAY! to those who've completed it 100% and have to do it again.

really. Better late than never. And this will give ps3 owners another reason to stick to gta4 a little longer.

Rockstar should have had this ready to go not even a month after Sony announced the trophies thing. I mean, heck, these are practically identical to the xbox achievements, so there was no new thought put into it.

Given how long and boring (compared to San Andreas) the game is, I highly and sadly doubt I'll give it another play through just for trophies. Short as Star Wars Force Unleashed is, I'd eagerly play through that again just for trophies (even if they are cut-n-pastes of xbox achievements). If Rockstar can pull off retroactive trophies, I'd be relieved and unannoyed. But I doubt that'll happen.

(For the record, I DO enjoy GTA 4, just not as much as Vice City and San Andreas.)

its a shame this wasnt around at launch, but playing the game again with the trophies is tempting for sure. one of the great things about the 360 is the achievements in my eyes, so its good the ps3 has an equal now.  would be nice if the trophies could be recognised from saves that already exisit though!

Honestly im pretty upset that these cant be retroactive. Something needs to be done and the problem solved for it to happen. I dont see myself playing through ALL of this again to get trophies. There is just too many awesome new games to play...like Fallout 3 and LBP
