Capcom has announced it is giving fans the opportunity to appear as a background character in the company’s forthcoming Street Fighter IV.

A post on Capcom’s blog reveals, "Send us... Whatever (pictures, video, dissertation, limerick, daguerreotype, singing telegram) explaining why you should be in Street Fighter IV.”

"Your reasons can be good or bad, great or small - doesn't matter. Champion player? World's biggest collector? Cosplayer supreme? Anonymous, undistinguished weirdo looking for the limelight? All are welcome to make their case."

Those interested should get in touch at contest@capcom.com, and enclose your name, age, phone number, email address and a high-res picture of your face. The competition closes June 16, so you’ll have to be quick.

Street Fighter IV is due out in arcades this summer, with a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release following at a later date.
