NFL MVP to grace cover of Backyard Football 2008

Posted on January 30th, 2008 at 04:14 EDT

With the Super Bowl just around the corner, Humongous Inc. decided to ride the wave of momentum of the NFL's MVP and leader of the undefeated New England Patriots by having Tom Brady as the cover boy of Backyard Football 2008.

"I am very excited to be part of the Backyard Football team," said Brady. "Working with kids is always great and representing Backyard Football is a fantastic way to introduce the fun of the game to the next generation of fans. I especially like seeing myself and other pro players as kids in the game -- it's really funny and brings back great memories of playing football as a child."

Brady, the New England Patriots' quarterback, set the NFL's single season record of 50 touchdown passes during the regular season surpassing the previous mark of 49 touchdown passes by Peyton Manning and earning him the honor of NFL MVP.

Brady's team is also going to be competing in this Sunday's Super Bowl against the New York Giants in the hopes of having their team go undefeated. If the Patriots were to win the Super Bowl it would be only the second time in NFL history that a team will have gone undefeated in the regular season and the playoffs.

Backyard Football '08 will be released on PS2, DS, Wii, and PC.

Lol ... I never thought of that; it's true for the Madden series! ... But now that I think about it, NCAA football 2008 has Jared Zabranski and Carson Palmer was on the 2004 cover.
