I like how the first reports made it seem like it was like 1 out of 3 froze, and this one say far apart lol...I like how XSUX ppl try and say that the PS3 has problems with games. well atleast our system can amke it to a menu without catching on fire!

once again a company decides to fail the ps3 with a less than functional cross platform game, why am i not surprised

Must be a memory problem.  I have a feeling this problem is much smaller than people let on.  Fanboys are probably just looking for anything to attack the other version to make theirs seem superior.

The game was released less than 24 hours ago, a few people have had unfortunate problems, Rockstar have already issued a statement concerning this, so why post such a negative comment???? 

tell them to make room for the install...

lol... i haven't had a problem.. like the majority... you probably have a space issue.. even if it should be enough for the game.. try clearing up a small 20 gbs.

I have had the game already before the 29 and it works fine for me ? somehow the shops where i live had it already and were selling it in 25 lol ^_^

is that all they can suggest? THAT SUCK could at least say working on a patch or something. 4 years in a making and get this stuff

by sounds of people`s reviews real people i mean not fan boys loads of people are saying the ps3 version is better ,better graphics etc then the 360 and i notice its xbox bummers who are saying the ps3 feezes haha its probly all a lie so eres my part cause gta4 is freezing all the time on the 360 and the high power demand of the game is causing the 360 3 rings of death but has no probs on ps3 at all so best to be safe n get the ps3 version instead, two can play the rumours game ;)

Good to see they are stepping up and admitting it instead of just ignoring the issue. I just got GTA IV today and loving every second of it!

I feel sorry for PS3 AND 360 owners who are having the problem. I am getting the game today and hope that my good ol 60gb holds up! (I know it will)

I have a launch 60GB PS3 and I pre-ordered GTA4, but I don't have it yet because it's being shipped to me. I just hope that I'm not one of the people that might have the freezing issues. But it seems like that it's just an isolated case. It would be different if the problem was more widespread though.

I've got a 80GB PS3 and mine froze 3 times before it installed properly.  You did NOT want to see the look on my face after that third try LOL!!!!! But after the fourth try everything has been all good.  So maybe it's not only the 60GB that is having this problem.

I cannot connect to the Multiplayer, PS3 network is Cr*p it will not let me connect at all, error could not connect to server or host, I want to be able to play online, whats going on here??? Also why does my mates Xbox360 have Co-op 2-4 players but PS3 does not??? The Australian edited version is $h!t also and wasted $120 and cannot see the p0stitutes gettin laid in the cars etc, I will have to wait a few weeks till they are shipping overseas games to australia,

Im sure ill get bashed but im in no hurry to pick this up. Just cause its GTA doesnt mean i should be instantly impressed by the same game year after year. I have a brain so im glad im not fooled by this. If this is GOTY a sad day that will be. Sales wise im sure it will be top seller, but otherwise........

damm rockstar by not checking the game on consoles now im screwed and ive downloaded the install 6 times so rockstar look for another to fix this cause lot of people is really pissed including me, to the point if i see one of ur boys ill slap them on the face, i pre-ordered the game a year ago and for all my patience this is wht i get!!!

Its not just PS3's... and its not just 60 US PS3's.. who writes these things? It applies to people worldwide, and applies more to 360 defective discs more than PS3.

i  can't even play more than 2 minutes . this  is getting annoying!!!

mine is freezing...going to take it back tomorrow for another copy to see if that fixes the issue

woot! I'm so happy, i can't play AC for more than 5 mins without it freezing. Thought the same thing was going to happen. BUt my copy of GTA4 works flawlessly. 60GB btw. knock on wood

ok me again reinstalling doesnt work tried it, getting other copies seem to not work either so u rockstars find a way how to fix it dnt b so freaking lazy and this is comment #38 fk u, played it at a friends house and its cool, and its because u dnt know how to play so fk off

Mine froze for about 2 seconds and then it was fine. No problems since, but I've only played it for a couple hours.

mine froze after a vlad mission. but my ps3 does just freeze once in awhile.-wishful thinking tho.i think the game is faulty.rockstsar hurry up and patch it.

also the controls are a bit poor.

I have a 60gig and the game works great for me so I guess this is just a batch of bad game discs.  Also I have to admit the game is not that great.  It did not deserve a 10 out of 10, it is far from perfect.  The controls are even worse than the past GTA games.  Driving a car and even walking are more of a chore than they should be.  Also the phone is a complete rip off of Saint's Row.  Perhaps they should have copied Saints Row's combat and driving mechanics.  Overall Saint's Row is a much better sandbox game due to controls and fun factor.  If this game would have been called anything else besides GTA 4 it would have scored a 7-8 maybe.  I know I will be flamed for this but everyone who has played this game has to admit the controls are just badly done.

this has happened to me a few times already even though i erased the data and reinstalled it. the game is still amazing though @lucky the controls can be set to the original gta games if u dont like it. and the reason you probably dont like it is because the physics are more real.

rock star should solved this problem in a few days with a patch

I have a 60gb and it's never frozen on me in all the 15-20 hours I've played it. I did how ever install the game twice, the first time I installed it I walked away to get some food and I missed the opening sequence by the time I got back so I deleted it and reinstalled, so if I was going to have a freezing issue I suppose it would have been corrected before I evens tarted playing but frankly I figure itmust just bee too small a dna random an error ti even think twice about. The game is still awesome there's nothing about thiis game that sets it behind the 36* version aside from maybe the over burdened servers.

i like in england and own a 60gb ps3. this issue has effect both me and my two friends. i work for a retail store and have had loads of people complaining about. it maybe few and far between in the US but here its a nightmare

I hadn't had any major problems with the game until earlier today.  It did have some slight hiccups the first 3 days or so, but now half the time I try and load the game it  freezes on the " now loading" screen.  It has also freezed once on right after I slept on the bed and saved my game(although it didn't even end up saving the game :( )  This problem isn't related to hard drive space, I have over 30 gigs available. It's a problem that rockstar overlooked, and  is unnaceptable for a game of this caliber. I can deal with these issues for now, but Rockstar and Sony better not take ages to figure it out. It's a great game though, aside from this problem.

Personally i find this gaem pretty amazing. Granted yes the control are a little shotty but after a whiel you get used to them and its all good. just some of the littel details of the game are amazing. Take the RPG fo rinstance they rockets actually ricochet off certains all in all a game that will keep surprising you.
