Sony has stated that a release date for the inaugural SingStar title for PlayStation 3 remains undetermined as the company continues to focus its efforts in testing various downloadable and community features for the game.

The company was keen to point that, although a number of reviews have already been printed in various media outlets, the game remains very much in its testing stages.

Speaking to Gamesindustry.biz this week, a Sony spokesperson stated, "We want to ensure that consumers have the best possible experience when playing SingStar on PlayStation 3.

"We are therefore taking extra time to test the downloadable content and community features of SingStar to ensure that it is as rich, simple and accessible a SingStar experience as possible.”

Sony’s official site has labelled the game for release between July and September 2007, with various online retailers suggesting an October or November date. Other sources claim that the title has finished development and is pending licensing clearance for various content used.

Promotional copies have also made their way to journalists, albeit with no online content included.
