The ESRB has officially given Street Fighter Alpha a teen rating for the PlayStation 3 console and PSP handheld. This indicates that the game is probably not too far off from being released to the public for download via the PlayStation Network.
If you can remember back to the release of SFA on the original PlayStation, you’d be able to recall that this installment of the franchise was far different than its predecessors. This title featured an overall unique character design and visual enticement. Hardcore fans will probably admit this wasn’t their favorite iteration of Street Fighter, but it’ll obviously be refreshing to reminisce on old times while playing through SFA once again.
We don’t have a specific date set for when this is expected to hit the PlayStation Network, but we’ll keep you updated as more news comes in.

Damn, i was hoping for the origional street fighter that i had for my sega genesis.
Alpha 2 I think was the best from the alpha series. Now if they can release SF 3rd strike then I am down for some online pwnage.
Sounds great. But there is a problem guys, i used to break my controller because of playing hard and trying to get the super dam. But i will get the game. See after Sony heard us now, they are putting games for us. Good keep up the good work we need more games. ^___^
Ok....this is good news and a step in the right direction for what I want to see more of on PSN.....but come on, atleast give us SF Alpha 2 gold which is the best of the Alpha series. Anyways, I guess its a start...and I am greatful for that.
Why not just release the whole entire Street Fighter series (with old school graphics [to avoid delays!]) onto one BD disc??? It'll solve all our dilemas of which SF game they should release, ergo, we'll all be happy! XD
IMO, I feel that an SF game on the PSP isn't the best way to play such a game that requires more buttons than the PSP provides and with me, there's plenty of painful button bashing involved in the game!!! ;)
Sweet
Thought the next SF to hit PSN would be SF2HD Remix ... .
Would love to see 3rd Strike on PSN ... however, it's time to get myself an arcade stick :>
yes, now i can get some practice so i could get ready for SF4
Well, we do already have PS2 versions of Street FIghter Anneversary collection and Street Fighter Alpha Anthology already. It would be nice to have downloadable Street Fighter titles though so I can get rid of my old discs.
psn id: gingo..... not one of my favourite classic games but at least they are steadily releasing them and maybe soon we will get to a real classic like MGS1 or FF7
Funky...would have preferred Alpha 3 just for the sheer cast size and random storyliens but this will suffice until IV comes out...
Never liked the Tekken/Street Fighter/Virtua Fighter games myself. I prefer the Soulcalibur fighting much more. A little less button-mashing.
it would be pretty sweet if you could play against someone wirelessly w/ your psp on this title. here's hoping they add that to it.
