Additonal Info:
Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono has detailed the challenges his team are facing to produce a smoothly-playable online experience for the retro brawler, but feels confident they can save the day.
“Obviously, lag will be a huge problem for online play,” he said. “We’re working on it. Compared to other games such as Virtua Fighter and Soul Calibur, they’ve got replay functions and so forth. It’s quite difficult for 3D Street Fighter at the moment.”
“In order to prevent the lag we’re thinking about trying to balance it up at user interface level and input timing by using joystick or something like that,” he continued, somewhat cryptically. “We still haven’t got a complete plan as yet. We’re still working on it. That’s all we can say at the moment.”
He also confirmed that recent rumours scheduling a console appearance alongside the long-awaited Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li are tenuous at best, with the release an unknown entity at present.
"Development time-wise, we've just about managed to take on the arcade version on console," he concluded. "We're just working on it, we still don't know."
Hopefully they'll have some solid information to share fairly soon.

the game better not to lag !
so sould calibur can get an almost perfect lag free online service and capcom can't do it? hmmm
to conquer the lag issue make the thing ps3 exclusive because X-box live lags out out even when not competeing online. simple solution for a difficult problem
I like 3's idea!!!
Other fighter games can do good online gameplay, but a simple 2d-ish fighter from a big name cant?
LOL.
Does this one STILL use the Framework engine from DMC4?If so then THEY should have guessed it wouldn't be a good idea to try to use that pre historic junk for online capabilities, but it IS Crapcom after all.
never heard of this The Legend of Chun-Li, is this a movie or an up coming game.
psn id: gingo... there is always a way to get past lag, capcom just need to work hard and find the way that works best for their game
Since when is the Chun Li movie "long awaited"?? It's like straight to DVD fodder! Plus it's the actress who played Lana Lang in Smallville, I know she can stage fight but I dont see her doing that great a job.
