Publisher Sierra Entertainment has announced that it will be releasing a videogame adaptation of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor for PlayStation 2, Wii and DS this summer.
Eurocom is to produce the PS2 and Wii versions of the upcoming action/adventure title, while A2M will be handling the DS iteration.
Tomb of the Emperor will be based on the forthcoming movie of the same name, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on August 1.
The game sees players assuming control of adventurer Richard “Rick” O’ Connell (Brendan Fraser) and his son, Alex O’ Connell (Luke Ford), in a third-person adventure that combines both shooting and proximity-based combat, as you embark on a quest to stop the resurrected Dragon Emperor (Jet Li)
Universal Pictures’ Bill Kisper commented: "The Mummy is one of the most distinctive and expansive franchises in Universal's portfolio, and there is inherent gameplay in the property.”
"The new film amps up the action, introduces a ruthless new villain and takes our heroes to incredible new locations. We are thrilled to bring all these attributes to life in this game."
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is due for release on August 8.

Sierra is a good developer, but I can't see this game being very good.
The fact that it's only announced for machines where they can minimize costs and maximize profit says a little about what their intentions are of this game. I can't wait for the movie though :P
yeah i am not going to buy this game. sounds like it's going to be for a new movie for the Mummy saga. i like the movies but, won't buy the game. i remember hearing about a new movie
