An updated listing on SEGA of America’s official website reveals that the upcoming western release of Yakuza 2 will feature Japanese audio and English subtitles.
This is in direct contrast to the original title, which received a full English cast, featuring the likes of Mark Hamill, Eliza Dushku and Rachael Leigh Cook.
The full game synopsis reads: “Authentic, cinematic sequel. The gritty, genuine portrayal of life in the Yakuza is made more realistic throughout 16 gripping chapters with a return to the original Japanese voice cast and English subtitles.”
Yakuza 2 was met with critical acclaim in its native Japan, receiving a 38 out of 40 in popular gaming magazine, Famitsu. The game picks up one year after the events of the original game, with players assuming control of Kiryuu Kazuma as he is forced to retire from his peaceful life as the threat of war looms over Japan.
Stay tuned.

I thought this was Yakuza 3?
Dont even know this game was still coming out lol.
I think it's that game that takes place in fuedal Japan. Not sure though
I dont want to be mean to you but I´m sorry for you guys.
Yakuza 2 is for the PS2, Yakuza 3 is for the PS3. The original Yakuza games resembles gameplay and art direction like a Shenmue game (i hope you at least know Shenmue). Yakuza was one of the most addictive games I´ve ever played. Great story telling and great gameplay.
This will be the 1st PS2 game I will buy since I have the PS3.
You guys kinda got it wrong, I think. I'm pretty sure it's Yakuza 3, but I could be mistaken.
Anyways, that's awesome, I wish more games were like this. I love original voice actors. If the game is made in America, I like the English voice actors. If the game is made in Japan, I like the Japanese voice actors. It's really the only thing that fits the characters' expressions and facial animations perfectly. I do have to say, though, MGS has the finest English voice actors out there, and it is the only series I take the English voice actors over the original. (It's hard to decide which one actually is original, lol)
I'm definitely hoping FFXIII/Versus XIII come with the original audio track.
Neameto's right you guys thinking wrong Yakuza 2 is for ps2 and game story and places are same as our day.
Yakuza 3 is looking to you old japan like samura etc you guys can download Yakuza 3 demo from japan psn original japan name is Ryo go Kotoku (maybe word typing wrong)
sony need to sort out the 40gb ps3 to play ps2 games, it is so annoying espically in a situation like this. i desperatly want to play manhunt and yakuza 1 again.
Yes, Yakuza 2 for the PS2 was never released overseas yet. But more importantly, NO ENGLISH VOICEOVERS! And this is a 2-disc game. Whoa.
I want this , I play the first one and it was cool!!
damn never heard of this game and yea Sony need to give you guys a PS3 that is backwards compatible. they should drop the 40gb and make the 60gb there main console but on the other hand i feel Sony you cant get all the thing the 40gb come with plus backwards compatible for the price that its now.
